Evelyn Hanks' Obituary
NORTHFIELDEvelyn Hanks, 86 years of age, passed away Saturday July 11, 2015 in Aurora, Ohio. Born in Bedford, Ohio on November 26, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Hattie (Kuchera) Kelechi.Mrs. Hanks was a longtime resident of Walton Hills and Northfield, where she was well known as the owner of Thoroughbred horses, racing them at Thistledown Track. She was a member of the Maple Hts. VFW Auxiliary. On November 24, 1956, she married Homer D. Hanks, the former Fire Chief of Northfield Village, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her were siblings Michael, Robert, Joseph and Charles Kelechi, Ann Fathauer and Harriett Ivars. Surviving is her son Dale (Karen) Hanks of Walton Hills, her twin brother Edward Kelechi of California, who at the time of their birth they were the first set of twins ever born at Bedford Hospital, and her nieces Carol Trexler of Shalersville and Elizabeth McLaughlin of Akron, Ohio.No calling hours or services. Per her request cremation has taken place with private burial.Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua
