Florence Silvernail's Obituary
AUBURN TWP.Florence T. Silvernail, 88 years of age, passed away Monday September 21, 2015 at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Hts., Ohio. Florence was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 4, 1926, the daughter of the late Michael and Antoinette (Tetlak) Bill.A lifetime Auburn area resident, she had operated with her husband the Silvernail Family Farm. Florence was an active member of The Church of St. Helen in Newbury. Known for her love of cooking, gardening and canning, she will always be remembered as the"Queen of Polish Cuisine", and as the Dean of Kielbasa Kollege. Her lively attitude gave Florence the aka of "Road Runner" due in part to her outstanding driving skills, and her grandchildren fondly named her "Grandma Oakley". Florence truly enjoyed the casino's, gambling, and was an Honorary member of the Mountaineer Club. Her family and friends will keep in their hearts her love for family, her smile, the birds, especially Cardinals that she enjoyed seeing so much, and her spirit that was and will remain an inspiration to others from the life she lived for those 88 years. On October 15, 1949, she married Robert A. Silvernail, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1990. She is survived by her children Robert A. (Debra) Silvernail,Jr. of Mantua, Alton Silvernail of West Farmington, Mary Ann (Jerry) Hawkins of Burton, Ohio, Annette (Gerald) Wilks and Diane Silvernail both of Auburn Township and Paula (Marty) Ranville of Fenton, Michigan. 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren also survive. Calling hours will be Friday from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44 (S. of Rt. 422) Mantua, Ohio 44255. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday September 26, 2015 10:00 A,M, at The Church of St.Helen, 12060 Kinsman Road, Newbury, Ohio 44065 (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Final resting place will follow at Shadyside Cemetery in Auburn Township, Ohio.In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Sister Mary Harold's Scholarship Fund in care of her church.
