Frank Kruper's Obituary
MANTUA Frank R. Kruper, 81 years of age of Mantua, passed away Tuesday September 22, 2009 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Born on April 2, 1928 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Steve Kruper. Formerly of Tempe, Arizona, he was a resident of the Mantua area since 1984. Mr. Kruper was employed as a Salesman-Broker in the retail fish industry for many years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mantua. Mr. Kruper was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army as a paratrooper. An avid baseball fan, he had played Minor League Baseball in his early twenties. He enjoyed fixing and repairing household items. A family man, Mr. Kruper held his religious feelings as being a very important part of his life. Survivors include his son David M. (Holly) Kruper of Mesa, Arizona and his granddaughter Kayla Kruper. He was preceded in death by his brother John Kruper and sisters Florence Soltis, Margaret Kruper and Helen. No calling hours. A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday September 26, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township with the Rev. Michael Garvey officiating. Mr. Kruper will be laid to rest with military honors provided by members of the U.S. Navy and Mantua American Legion Post No. 193.
