Dr. Shannon was also a beloved and respected member of the Ohio Association of the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference since the 1980s and served as our Mission Chairman many years. He helped establish our Association. He faithfully served our Lord and Savior his whole life. In Russia he founded a Christian Seminary and his students carry on the evangelical ministry in that nation. His monthly Prayer Letters lifted up thousands of prayer requests from those in Russia, the Philippines, and Haiti as his concern for others always dominated his thoughts and prayers. He raised money for those in need at the expense of any comforts of his own. He was a true patriot who loved our nation and warned of our demise and bent for socialism. He spoke and taught Biblical truths with exacting scholarship and care. As he shared insights there was a twinkle in his eye as well as deep concern. He was truly a man of God who is now enjoying the blessings of his Master's Presence. We will miss him greatly. May the Lord sustain and comfort his wife, daughter, and loved ones and all those to whom he faithfully ministered.
