Gail Louise Chorich's Obituary
Gail Louise Chorich (Smith), age 78, passed away peacefully, Monday, June 16, 2025.
Gail was born on January 6, 1947 to the late Henry and Betty (Bassett) Smith.
She leaves behind her loving partner of 50 years Bernie Dedor, and devoted daughter, Daniele
Kerekes (James), sister, Bonnie Griffith (Don), 5 grandchildren, Cody, Joshua, Matthew, Kaylin
and Jason; nephew, Jerry Nolan(Jackie) and niece, Sarah Smith. She is preceded in death by her
parents, her brother Gary Smith, and nephews Aaron Smith and Jessie Smith.
Gail grew up in Strongsville, Ohio and was a 1965 graduate of Strongsville High School.
She worked several different clerical positionals over the years. She was a numbers girl and
always had a calculator nearby. Gail later earned her accounting degree from Hiram college.
She is retired from Harrison Machine & Plastic in Garrettsville.
When she wasn’t working numbers, you could find her working on “the farm”. The farm was her
happy place and she loved it. She loved spending time outside tending to her gardens, doing
farm chores and caring for various animals over the years, including many horses, cows, cats
and especially her dogs. If she wasn’t outdoors you could find her working on one of her many
crafting projects, everything from woodworking to paper crafting. She was a very talented and
detailed crafter. She was always keeping herself busy.
Gail loved the Lord and had great devotion to her faith. We know she is with him now.
She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends who loved her so much.
Family and friends may gather for visitation at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 10692 Freedom St. Garrettsville, Ohio, on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 from 11 am until 12 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 pm. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Hiram. Ohio.
