George A. Fetkovich's Obituary
RAVENNA George A. Fetkovich, 92 years of age, passed away Thursday September 22, 2016 at his residence in Ravenna. Born in Belle Valley, Ohio on September 15, 1924, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Zeleznik) Fetkovich.Formerly of Brownsville and Kerrville, Texas, he had resided in Ravenna since 2009. He had been employed as an electrical engineer at Victoreen Instruments in Cleveland moving to their facility in Brownsville from where he then retired. Mr. Fetkovich proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army and was a POW of the War earning the Purple Heart and 2 Bronze Stars. He was a member of the American Legion in Brownsville, and was an avid golfer in his spare time. Survivors include his daughters Pamela Fetkovich of Cleveland and Georgina O?Brien of Texas, his grandson Shawn O?Brien, and sisters Leona Tanski, Dorothy (Frank) Ulle of Copley and Patricia Impemba of Florida, and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his wife Constance in 1990, and siblings Michael, John and Robert Fetkovich, Irene Mizik, Audrey Schillo and Margaret Wharton. Funeral services will be Tuesday September 27, 2016, 12:00 Noon at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until service time. Officiating will be Rev. Edward Staff of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Mantua. Final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township where full military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193.
