Gerald S. Kelley's Obituary
TROY TOWNSHIP Gerald S. Kelley, 53 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Wednesday February 29, 2012 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio. Gerry was God's Gift to Us on July 20, 1958 in Durango, Colorado, the son of the late Lyle and Rita (Thomas) Kelley.Formerly of Endicott, New York, he had resided in Troy Township the past 2 years.Gerry had been employed in upper management for Best Buy, and served as office manager for Franklin Graham Ministry while residing in New York State. As a member of Praise Assembly of God in Garrettsville, he served as administrative assistant and will be remembered as Pastor Greg Ebie's "Right Hand" to all who knew him.Gerry gave freely of his time to working with Samaritan's Purse, the Special Olympics and assuming leadership roles in his church. An avid baseball fan of the Chicago Cubs, he also played baseball for the Air Force Baseball Team, and is a United States Air Force Veteran. Gerry had an outgoing, loving personality that will be cherished forever by his family and friends. On April 16, 1994, he married Patricia A."Patty" (Howard) Kelley who survives at their home. Also surviving is his son Brett (Jackie) Kelley of Iowa, his step-son William Brion of Kent, his daughters LaTasha (Eddie) Cardenas of Iowa and Katelyn Mayhugh-Kelley of New York State, 4 grandchildren Gavin, Gracie, Bryce and Nora and his 4-legged children Max and Milli. Calling hours will be Friday 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday March 4, 2012 1:00 P.M. at Praise Assembly of God, 10280 State Route 88,Garrettsville,Ohio 44231 with Pastor Greg Ebie officiating. Gerry will be laid to rest at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township, Ohio where he will receive Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in his name to the church.
