Geraldine Stencil's Obituary
GARRETTSVILLE Geraldine M. Stencil, 92 years of age, passed away Saturday June 20, 2015 at her residence. Born in Maple Hts., Ohio on April 25, 1923, she was the daughter of the late John and Mae (Vlna) Rokusek. A resident of the Garrettsville area the past 10 years, Mrs. Stencil was a longtime Maple Hts. resident where she had been a member of St. Wenceslas Catholic Church. A homemaker, she enjoyed traveling the entire United States, camping, bowling and those special trips to Florida. Mrs. Stencil had been a volunteer at the Maple Hts. Library for many years. At the age of 65, she learned to drive which she found great pleasure in achieving. As a very caring lady all of her life, she was always helping other people, and that along with the love she had for her children and all family members, will forever be their special cherished memories. On March 3, 1950, she married her beloved husband William T. Stencil who preceded her in death in 1985. Also preceding was her brother Clarence Rokusek. Survivors include her devoted children Jim (Jeannine) Stencil of Bowling Green, Ohio, Mary Stencil of Twinsburg, Ohio, Kim (Gary) Dunn of Garrettsville and Susan (Sterling) Smith of Southlake, Texas, as well as 13 loving grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Stencil will be Wednesday June 24, 2015 12:00 Noon in the Chapel of the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 where visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. until service time. Officiating will be Rev. Daniel Cartwright and Rev. Michael Garvey. Final resting place will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Bedford Hts., Ohio.
