Gladys E. Corbett's Obituary
Gladys E. Corbett 100 years of age, a longtime Mantua Township resident passed away Saturday March 7, 2009 at Stow Glen Nursing Home. Mrs. Corbett was born on August 8, 1908 in Bedford, Ohio the daughter of the late Frank and Mabel (Otto) Ham. She and her husband worked the family farm on Mennonite Road and were both former members of the Grange, Mystic Chapter No. 32O.E.S. and the Farm Bureau. Mrs. Corbett was a longtime member of the Mantua Center Church where her knitting and sewing skills were used for knitting baby sweaters for the church bazaars. For over 25 years, she and Mr.Corbett enjoyed spending the winter months at their residence in Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert W. "AB" Corbett on November 15, 1994 and by her sister Gertrude Davis. Survivors include her son James A. (Helen) Corbett of Stow, grandchildren Debra, Diane, Karen, Kimberly and Tammy, great-grandchildren Lisa, Christine, Danae, Allicia, Naudia, Bryson, Josh, Taylor and Katlin and great-great-grandchildren Colton, Devin, Jaden and Jordan. Visitation will be Wednesday March 11, 2009 from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua. Funeral services will be Thursday March 12, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Mantua Center Christian Church with Rev. Chad Delaney officiating.
