Gloria F. Pelis' Obituary
MANTUA Gloria Pelis, 88 years of age of Mantua, Ohio, passed away Monday January 15, 2018 in Burton, Ohio. Born on June 29, 1929 in LaPorte, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late George and Beaua (Hanson). Formerly a longtime resident of Bedford, she moved to the Mantua area in 2010. Mrs. Pelis had been employed at the Orange School District as Transportation Supervisor, retiring in 1996 after 29 years of service which included being a bus driver for 20 years. Mrs. Pelis remained active during her life with her family as they loved camping, boating, and helped her family with their drag racing passion. She also enjoyed knitting, and at age 70 was still taking cruises with her lady friends. Her family will forever have cherished memories of a lady who loved all of them, just as much as they loved and were inspired by her life. In 1981, she was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Pelis, and also was preceded by her son Brock Pelis. Survivors include her devoted son Scott T. (Judith) Pelis of Mantua, her loving grandchildren Scott Rembiesa, Alan, William and Sara Pelis, and great grandson Eathen Rembiesa. Calling hours will be Wednesday January 24, 2018 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. where her funeral service will begin at 7:45 P.M. A graveside burial service will be held Thursday January 25, 2018, 1:00 P.M. at the Patton Cemetery in LaPorte, Indiana.
