Grace M. Ellis' Obituary
Monroe, Georgia Grace M. Ellis, 98 years of age, formerly of Berlin Center, Ohio, became Our Gift to God on June 6, 2009, at the home of her daughter in Monroe, Georgia. Mrs. Ellis was God's Gift to Us on August 21, 1910 in Waterford, Ohio the daughter of the late Charles Frederick and Berta May (Humiston) Mindling. She and her husband Gerard "Jerry" Ellis operated a very successful beef farm in Berlin Center which was started in 1950, and she and Mr. Ellis were also instrumental in the establichment of the first gas station in Youngstown, Ohio. A very active member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church in Berlin Center, Ohio, upon moving to Florida, Mrs. Ellis continued her church activities with her membership at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Ft. Myers, Florida. Mrs. Ellis also held membership in the D.A.R., loved gardening, playing cards, watching the Atlanta Braves, golfing and yet will most be remembered for being the "Heart of Her Family" with family and grandchildren her most cherished treasures. A gracious hostess, Mrs. Ellis looked forward to the many visitors from the North who she welcomed into her home with her warm smile. Survivors include her son Chuck (Lois) Eisele of Mantua, daughter Linda (Doug) Smith of Monroe, Georgia, grandchildren Mark (Ellie) Eisele of Rootstown, Sam (Patricia) Eisele of Mantua, Marilyn (Brian) Sessions of Kent, Chris (Bonnie) Bryson of Dunwoody, Georgia, Tiffany Churchwell of Loganville, Georgia and Aliesha (David) Edwards of Loganville, Georgia. Also surviving are 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. On May 21, 1933 she married Gerard Ellis who preceded her in death on May 13, 1987. Also preceding her in death was her grandson William Eisele in April of 2009. A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Ellis will be Friday July 17, 2009 at 6:00 P.M. at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church in Berlin Center, Ohio. Final resting place for Mrs. Ellis will be at Moultrie Chapel Cemetery in Minerva, Ohio.
