Gustave George Dasch, Jr., 63 years of age, passed away unexpectedly on Monday February 3, 2020 at Uh-Geauga Medical Center in Claridon Township, Ohio. Mr. Dasch was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 2, 1956, the son of the late Gustave George and Julia (Szuhay) Dasch, Sr. A lifetime resident of Troy Township, he was a 1975 graduate of Berkshire High School. He was a proud member of Local 18 of Ohio Operating Engineers, and had been employed at Koski Construction in Ashtabula, and at Gibson-Stewart in Oakwood. Gus loved spending time with his family, especially his boys and grandchildren. He enjoyed fixing tractors and fixing anything mechanical. He was a NASCAR enthusiast and enjoyed classic rock music. He will be greatly missed by a multitude of family and friends, and the lives that he touched over the years. Gus is survived and will be greatly missed by his sons Gustave G. Dasch, III, John Dasch, Adam Dasch and Nick Dasch, all of Troy Twp.; his siblings Mike (Cathy) Dasch of Troy Twp., Steve (Marie) Dasch of Burton, Julie (Paul) Ellis of Parkman, Mary (Ron) Simpson of Troy Twp. and Susan (Ted) Shukaitis of Auburn Twp.; his grandchildren Kimberly, Jacob, Nicholas and Miguel. His nephews Josh, Ronnie, Nikolas and niece Emily also survive. Gus was preceded in death by his niece Becky Dasch in 2000. Calling hours will be Sunday February 9, 2020 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of State Route 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, from 1:00 P.M.-3:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. Funeral services for Gus will be Monday February 10, 2020, 11:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home with Fr. Jay McPhillips officiating. Final resting place will follow at Mumford Road Cemetery in Troy Twp. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Hungarian Cultural Center of Northeastern Ohio P.O. Box 847, Chesterland, Ohio 44026.
