Hazel "Mickee" Hawkins' Obituary
SHALERSVILLE / MANTUA Hazel M. (Mickee) Hawkins, 85 years of age, passed away peacefully on Friday October 27, 2017, at the home of her daughter Monica Belrose. Mickee was born in Burnsville, West Virginia on September 21, 1932, the daughter of the late Wesley and Janie (Ocheltree) Brown. She was a resident of the Shalersville area since 1960. Mickee was a home maker, an avid gardener, yet her special times were those spent with her children and grandchildren. A member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Mantua, she volunteered her time with the Garden Club, and was one of the ladies who assisted with the funeral luncheons for many years. She also was active in The 4C?s in Mantua. On November 13, 1954, Mickee married Charles E. Hawkins, Sr. who preceded her in death on February 6, 2009. Together, they had five children: Lisa Mitchell of Aurora, Monica (Steve) Belrose of Michigan, Suzanne (Todd) Gerhardt of Mantua, Charles (Maria) Hawkins, Jr. of North Carolina and Kevin (Teresa) Hawkins of Shalersville. Also surviving are her siblings Don Brown of Ohio, Harry Brown, Kathy Brown and Nina Sue Ramsey all of West Virginia, and her grandchildren, Bethany, Megan, Nathan, Bradley, Brett, Jessica, Jacob, Juliana, Gabe, Mario, Chad, Emily, Isabel, Abbigail and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday November 3, 2017 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 10:00 A.M.-11:30 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 Noon at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, 11045 St. Joseph Blvd. Mantua, Ohio 44255 with Rev. Edward Stafford officiating. Final resting place will be at Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Joseph?s Church.
