Helen Knight's Obituary
WINDHAM Helen M. Knight (Harvey), 82 years of age, passed away Monday July 23,2012 at her residence. Born on March 18, 1930 in West Union, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Oral and Willa (Jones) Eckles. A homemaker, she had been a longtime resident of Windham, where she was a member of the Windham Bible Church. Helen enjoyed crocheting, gardening, music, singing and loved to yodel. Helen's legacy includes her giving of a portion of her own hair to "Locks of Love" an organization to assist children with wigs who have lost their hair due to illnesses. Survivors include her children Sam (Teresa) Knight of Windham, Ken Knight of Toledo, Ohio, Linda (Daniel) Kohn of Diamond, Ohio, Carolyn (John) Raley of Kent and Sherri Knight of Akron, her sister Patty Cottrell of Tennessee, 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Jennings Eckles and sisters Naomi Gainer, Frankie Horner, Susie Boyd and Martha Dodd. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. and Friday from 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. at the Windham Bible Church, where her service will be held Friday July 27, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Fred Youngen officiating. Her final resting place will follow at Windham Township Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua.
