Hobart L. Stoots, Sr's Obituary
MANTUA Hobart L. Stoots, Sr.81 years of age, passed away Thursday May 14, 2015 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio. Born in Ivanhoe, Virginia on September 27, 1933, he was the son of the late Jess and Mary Jane (Jackson) Stoots. A resident of the Mantua area since 1959, Mr. Stoots had been employed at SeaWay Foods from where he retired. A true Cleveland Indians fan... "Go Tribe", his other favorite pastime were those special moments spent with his grandchildren who will forever have the cherished memories of "Grandpa". On July 16, 1954, he married Audrey Stoots who preceded him in death in 2004.Also preceding him were his siblings Charles Wayne Stoots, Danny Stoots and Shirley Walk. Survivors include his children Gary (Kathy) Stoots of Shalersville, Larry Stoots, Hobart (Sissy) Stoots, II and Bonnie (Michael) Leferink all of Mantua, Charles (Stephanie) Stoots of Cuyahoga Falls and Tammy (Janet) Stoots of Kent, brothers Jesse (Denise) Stoots of Shalersville, Bobby Stoots of Wytheville, Virginia, sisters Margaret (Leland) Hagy of Ravenna, Betty (M.H.) Brown and Mary Faye (Dickey) Sparks both of Ivanhoe, Virginia, Linda Carter of Pensacola, Florida, Brenda (Wayne) Dunford of Ivanhoe, Virginia and Rhonda Lawson of Hillsville, Virginia.Hobart also is survived by his loving grandchildren Sara Stoots, Lisa Dresp, Jimmy Toth, Keneth Stoots, Jennifer Miller, Rae Lynn Cooley, Krystle Stoots, Carrie Price, Charles Stoots, Jr., Sarah Baynes Shinn, Amber Hickman , Sabrina Hickman, Baleigh Shaver, Makenzie Shaver and Tristyn Shaver, 11 great-grandchildren, his " Best Buddy" JoAnn Arnold of Mantua and his 4 legged children Scooter and Princess. Calling hours will be Monday from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255. Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 19, 2015, 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home, with final resting place to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville Township, Ohio.
