Ilona Dancs' Obituary
MANTUA Ilona Dancs, 89 years of age, passed away Tuesday May 23, 2017 at Stow-Glen Retirement Village, Stow, Ohio. Born on January 16, 1928 in Nvirchaholy, Hungary she was the daughter of the late Mike and Maria Tulipan. She was a Mantua area resident from 1964 until moving to Ravenna in 2005. Mrs. Dancs had been employed for 18 years at Swagelok from where she retired. Mrs. Dancs was a member of St. John Byzantine Catholic Church in Solon, where she and her late husband were very active, especially in the preparation of Hungarian sausage for Christmas and Easter. Ilona loved her gardening and took great pride in it, as well as in her Hungarian heritage. On December 23, 1956, she married Sandor Dancs who preceded her in death on March 8, 2005. Also preceding was her sister Margaret Takacs. She is survived by her daughters Susan Nicholas of Fairlawn, Mary (Steve) Bryant of Brimfield and Helen Kory of Stow; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren also survive. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where prayers will be said Friday at 9:15 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday May 26, 2017, 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Mantua with Rev. Edward Stafford officiating. Final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Township, Ohio.
