Ivan D. Ward, 81 years of age, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 at UH-Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio. Born in Randolph County, West Virginia on October 8, 1940, he was the son of the late Richard and Vera (Bennett) Ward. A lifetime Windham resident, Mr. Ward had been employed at the Chrysler Stamping Plant in Twinsburg where he retired after 36 years of dedicated service. Mr. Ward was an active member of his community, including memberships with the Fraternal Order of Eagles # 2705 in Garrettsville, and Windham Sons of American Legion # 674, where he enjoyed the Monday morning breakfast gatherings. He enjoyed farming, horses, and was well known for his maneuvering around on his Kubota. On December 4, 2015, he married Erin (Hunt) Ward who survives at their home. Also surviving are his children, Dennis Ward, Margie Papp, Skyy McCune, Laurie Richards, Baylee McCune, 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and Luna McCune-Smith his granddaughter and best friend who lived with her “Papa” and attended to his every need sharing a special love for him. No calling hours or services. A private burial will be held.
