Jack Montazzoli's Obituary
John (Jack) Malcolm Montazzoli, was God's Gift to Us on November 14, 2008, and became Our Gift to God on August 4, 2012, with his parents, Todd and Elizabeth (nee Scherer) Montazzoli, his two sisters, Jennifer and Anna, and two brothers, Matthew and Philip , at his side holding his hands. Beside his immediate family, he is survived by his grandparents, Philip and Suzanne (nee Kronenberger) Scherer of Fredonia, New York , and Gil and Janelle (nee Jenss) Montazzoli of Niagara Falls/Lewiston, New York, his four aunts and uncles on the Scherer side from whom he shared 21 cousins and his four aunts and uncles on the Montazzoli side from whom he shared 9 cousins. Though young, he made known his loving, God-giving nature. He had a real fight for life, good humor, and a love of family showing in such things as his desire to participate in all kid's activities. He could talk with his eyes while crossing his arms and "looking over his brow" to punctuate his playful self. He like to "Skype" especially his cousin, Helen, and talking on the telephone. He enjoyed classical music, or Rush , dancing and mimicking the rhythm, and watching Blue's Clues and sports, even imitating in perfect time the grunting noise of tennis players during the Olympics. He loved singing Happy Birthday and blowing out candles and so he had many birthdays every month. When visitors arrived or his family entered the room while he was playing he would invite them to sit down and play ball with him, and he was very accurate in his aim. Fond of animals whether on "the farm" (sheep, goats, ducks,) or at the zoo, Jack particularly liked watching penguins diving into the water or turtles swimming about. He often fell asleep with his bunny pillow and loved his newest stuffed toy, "Bob the bear." In his life, Jack had many obstacles to hold him back. Though suffering from Down syndrome and many operations, he fought bravely through all - learning to walk, twice, and acquiring new words even a few hours before his death, what a good spirit! He will be missed! A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church, 16150 Center St. Parkman, Ohio at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday August 8, 2012, where visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of his mass. Final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Township, Ohio. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the HELP Prolife Group of St. Edward and St. Lucy's Church, P.O. Box 1042 Middlefield, Ohio 44062 where he was a catalyst for its current vitality. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home, Mantua, Ohio.
