James "Jim" Clay's Obituary
James "Jim" Clay, age 67, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026.
Jim was the beloved husband of Diane Clay, with whom he shared many wonderful years of love, companionship, and countless treasured memories. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, devotion, and an appreciation for the simple moments that meant the most.
He was the loving father of Jeff Clay of Akron, Matthew (the late Alexandra) Bunch of Rootstown, Tyler (Jen) Bunch of Garrettsville, and Carly (Jacob) Bunch of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Jim was a proud and loving grandfather to Alan Bunch of Rootstown, whose life brought him much happiness and pride.
He was the dear brother of Ed Clay; cherished uncle of Ed Clay of Cuyahoga Falls and Brian Clay of Twinsburg; beloved son of Frank and Alice Clay; and devoted son-in-law of Kenneth and Shirley Carson. In addition to his loving family, Jim also leaves behind many dear friends and extended family who will deeply miss him.
Jim was a man whose quiet strength was reflected in his dedication to his work. He took great pride in working hard and had a special love for his truck, which brought him as much joy as the open road itself. A loyal Cleveland and Ohio sports fan, he rarely missed the opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams.
Some of Jim's happiest moments were the peaceful ones he shared with his wife Diane, spending time together floating down the river in their canoes, enjoying nature and each other's company. At home, he was greeted by the unconditional love of his three cherished cats-Howie, Hank, and Roger-who were constant companions and held a special place in his heart.
More than anything, Jim will be remembered for the love he gave so freely to his family, the life he built alongside Diane, and the kindness, dependability, and gentle spirit that touched those who knew him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
All services will be held at a later date.
