James Fedor's Obituary
MANTUA James Fedor, 72 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Sunday July 14, 2013 at his residence following a courageous battle due to cancer. Jim was God's Gift to Us on October 24, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Frank and Mary (Simotica) Fedor. A resident of Mantua since 1957, he had been in business with his father in the operation of Modern Cement for many years. Presently, Jim was the owner-operator of Ground Effect Machine Shop in Mantua. A gentleman of great abilities, he perfected the Super Vee Motorcycle, providing repair service from his shop for both individuals and companies. His creative skills as a machinist also included constructing windmills that generated lights in his residence. Jim wrote articles for "Thunder Roads" and "Cruisin Times", and he wrote a book on the Super Vee Motorcycle on the repair and care of it. Jim served on the Mantua Village Council for 4 years, and was the creative force that started the local publication, "Mantua Matters". Jim served in the United States Navy during the Viet Nam Era. Jim was a man who loved The Lord and held a strong faith in God, and his family whose love for him was as lasting as his love for them. He was a member of Parkside Church in Chagrin Falls. Jim also found time to shoot pool, which he was very good at and left no doubt about his abilities. On September 28, 1979, he married his devoted wife Louella (Wilson) Fedor who survives at their home. Also surviving are his beloved children Amy (Matt) Keller of Michigan and Shelley (Mike) Varga of Mantua, his dear sisters Barbara (Joe) Hrivnak of Virginia, Marilyn (Frank) Majni of Mantua, Patty Poplar of Burton, brother A.J. (Barbara) Fedor of Newbury and loving grandchildren Katie (Jake) Cooley, Nick Klatik, presently serving in the U.S. Navy. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, St. Rt. 44 at the corner of 4668 Pioneer Trail, Mantua, where his funeral service will be held Friday July 19, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Mike Wilmer officiating. Jim will then be laid to rest at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township, Ohio where he will receive full military honor's provided by The United States Navy Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193.
