James R. Homan, Jr's Obituary
Ravenna - James R. Homan, Jr. 69 years of age of Ravenna, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital. Mr. Homan was born on May 20, 1940 in Altoona, Pennsylvania the son of the late James R. and Ruth (Getz) Homan, Sr. A resident of the Ravenna and Shalersville areas the past 40 years, Mr. Homan was a heavy equipment operator for Local No. 18 Operating Engineer's in Cleveland for 40 years, retiring in 1998. A U.S. Army Veteran, Mr. Homan held memberships in the Ravenna Moose Lodge and St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Streetsboro. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and boating. On May 17, 1969 he married Maureen L. (Stine) Homan who survives at their home. Also surviving are his brothers, William Homan of Warriors Mark, Pennsylvania and Roy (Donna) Homan of Chester, Vermont and numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Monday from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home and Crematory Service in Mantua, where prayers will be said Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 11:00 A. M. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Streetsboro with Rev. Fr. Robert Pfeiffer officiating. Final resting place for Mr. Homan will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville Township with military honors.
