James Mulanax's Obituary
James Dewey Mulanax Junior, born March 30th, 1937, departed this life at 11:58 PM on Sunday June 4th, 2023. He resided in Streetsboro, Ohio. Jim moved on to join The Lord and his departed family and friends while in hospice at Burton after a brief stay in a rehabilitation facility in Aurora. Traversing his final weeks while armed with his usual positive attitude, it was hoped that he would recover from a growing list of issues: diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, kidney disease, and a heart attack. Unfortunately, those obstacles proved impossible to overcome. He left us a little at a time with some parts crossing over earlier than others, leaving parts here to remain with us for a time. His transition is now complete, and he is fully restored on the other side. Beautifully, the love remains on both sides. He slept the last few days before arriving at his peaceful end.
Jim was a son, grandson, brother, husband, father, Gramps, gardener, carpenter, firefighter, United States Marine, security guard, adoptive parent, mentor, maker, repairman, marksman, business owner, remodeler, construction worker, writer, poet, blogger, helper, caregiver, reconciler, sunshine, hero, pancake flipper, hugger, and ”Peace and Love”er.
He loved family, friends, fishing, nature, camping, sports, God’s creatures, all our pets, reading, antiques, history, nautical things, timeliness, eggs over easy, chipped beef in cream gravy on toast with peas, jars of random hardware, memento stones from his travels, and SPAM!
He was a tolerant, ethical man that took great interest in getting to know those around him. He continues to be loved and missed by many.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife Charlotte (Park) Moller-Mulanax, her children: Ronald Moller and Kimberly (Moller) Myers, his children: Steven Mulanax (wife Shelia (Gillenwater) Bendele) and Darci (Mulanax) Rodriguez (husband Raul Rodriguez), his grandchildren: Amber (Myers) Brookins (husband Nathan Brookins), John Myers (fiance Christina Fiske), Erik Myers, Marina (Bendele) Davis, Ryan Mulanax, Dominique Rodriguez, Cristal Rodriguez, and Joanne Martinez, his great-grandchildren: Madilyn Mae Brookins, Henry Ashby, Milani Rodriguez, Niko Rodriguez, and Stevie Yanez. He is also survived by his brothers Frank Mulanax and Michael Mulanax.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother Irene (Szabelski) Mulanax, father James Dewey Mulanax Senior, sister Judith (Mulanax) Zagata, brother Harley Mulanax, and former wife Judi B. Mulanax-Malis.
A memorial gathering and celebration of his life will follow at some time in the future.
