AURORA
James B. Studzinski, 74 years of age, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 25, 1947, he was the son of the late Joseph and Laura (Lesniewski) Studzinski. A lifetime Aurora resident, he was a 1965 graduate of Aurora High School. Jim then served his country with honor in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He began working as a meat cutter at The Kroger Co, in Solon, and also at the Aurora Police Department part time as a patrolman. He later was promoted to full time patrolman, where he remained until his retirement in 1989. He was a former president of Portage County FOP # 70, President of Police & Fire Retirees, and was awarded the Blue Coat of the Year Award. Additional memberships include Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Aurora, and Streetsboro American Legion Post # 685. Jim and his wife Shelene, own and operate their 85 acre farm in Aurora, raising Appaloosa, Quarter, and Paint horses, as well as Longhorn Cattle. An avid Harley Davidson rider, traveling to the Sturgis Bike Rally many times, he enjoyed a life that included scuba diving in the Carribbean, international traveling, boating, and water skiing. A “Jack of all trades”, Jim could repair anything, from farm equipment to his many rental homes. On October 24, 1970, he married Shelene (Bence) Studzinski who survives at their home. Also surviving are his daughters, Jinene Studzinski, and Jolene Hackett, both of Aurora, and his sisters Georgene Rusnak of Lewis Center, Ohio, and Marlene Pastor of Aurora. Calling hours will be Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, December 1, 2021, 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 345 South Chillicothe Rd., Aurora, Ohio 44202 with Fr. Shawn Conoboy officiating. (Everyone Please Meet At The Church). Final resting place will then follow at Aurora City Cemetery where full military honors will be provided by U.S. Army Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Fieldstone Farm Therapeutic Riding Center in Chagrin Falls ( fieldstonefarm.org), St. Joseph Indian School (stjo.org), or Portage Co. Animal Protective League (portageapl.org). (Facial Coverings Are Suggested For Both The Visitation And Mass).
