Jane L. Dye's Obituary
HIRAM Jane L. Dye, 72 years of age, was Our Gift to God on Thursday August 24, 2017 in Burton, Ohio. Jane was God?s Gift to Us on August 2, 1945 in Waynesburg, Ohio, the daughter of the late Carl and Elva (Parsons) Long. A resident of Hiram since 1979, she was a graduate of Sandy Valley High School in 1963. Jane was employed for 19 years at Hiram College during which time she earned and graduated with her Bachlors degree. She retired in 2010 from Hiram College after 19 years of service as the Circulation Supervisor. She was a member of Hiram College Women?s Council, and a very active member of Maplewood Christian Church in Ravenna. Jane also enjoyed Square Dancing for 20 years with her husband, and held membership in the Hubs Square Dancing Group. While she found pleasure in quilting, gardening and watching the birds, her family will forever be blessed with the memories of her love for them, especially her grandchildren, and their love for her. On June 15, 1968 she married her beloved husband Denver R. Dye, who survives at their home. Also surviving are her devoted children Gregory (Stacy) Dye of Arlington, Virginia, James Dye of Hiram and Diane (Bart) Cole of Largo, Florida; her dear siblings Myron (Patti) Long of Uniontown, Ohio, Paul (Nancy) Long of Waynesburg, Ohio and Janet (Donald) Leech of Louisville, Ohio; and five loving grandchildren Alexander, Ryan, Andrew, Kaitlyn and Matthew. She was preceded in death by her brother Melvin Long. Calling hours will be Tuesday August 29, 2017 from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday August 30, 2017. 11:00 A.M. at Maplewood Christian Church, 7300 St.Rt. 88, Ravenna, Ohio 44266 with Pastor Ken Warren officiating.
