Janet R. Cutlip's Obituary
Janet R. Cutlip (nee Sweet), age 87 of Chagrin Falls, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024. Born September 24, 1937 in Ravenna, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Norman and Marian (Kettring) Sweet. Raised in Mantua, Ohio, Janet was a 1955 graduate of Crestwood High School and in 1967 she married her beloved husband of 57 years, Gary D. Cutlip.. She was a wonderful mother and will be dearly missed by her children and grandchildren. Janet was a devoted Christian that loved God and attending her church-Awakening Church in Aurora, Ohio.
Janet had many interests and hobbies. Not known to many but she was actually one flight away from obtaining her pilots license. She even owned her own horses and dabbled in harness racing. She later became an active member of the PT Cruiser club and participated in many parades and events. Her love of cooking along with her sweet tooth led her to a career in catering which became a passion of hers and she took pride in her ongoing relationships with her customers and built many friendships along the way. She had a soft spot for all animals, especially cardinals and frogs. She was an avid reader and couldn't pass up a good Hallmark movie even if it made her cry. She enjoyed traveling, meals with friends and family, holidays particularly Christmas and trying her luck at the casino.
Janet is survived by her husband Gary of Chagrin Falls, sons Brent Cutlip (Brenda) of Mt. Dora, FL and Todd Cutlip of Bradenton, FL; a daughter Megan of North Olmsted, OH; grandchildren Zane, Colton, Courtney and Brooke, and her very close Mantua Cousins who were more like her best friends.
Family and friends may gather for visitation at Green Funeral Care, 4668 Pioneer Trail, (at the corner of St. Rt. 44), Mantua, on Friday, December 13, 2024 from 11am - 2pm. with a funeral service to immediately follow at 2pm. Pastor Mark Galambos officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Center. Afterwards, please join the family for a reception and time of fellowship at the Awakening Church, 241 N. Aurora Rd., Aurora, 44202.
