Janice L. Crowder's Obituary
SHALERSVILLE Janice L. Crowder, 87 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Friday December 12, 2014 at her residence. Mrs. Crowder was God's Gift to Us on November 29, 1927 in Mohawk, West Virginia, the daughter of the late J. Dewey and Grace (Lambert) Lester. A resident of Shalersville the past 20 years, she had formerly been employed as a realtor at I.R. Martin in Aurora, as well as working in the Shipping & Receiving Department of Erickson Tool in Solon and at Teledyne Osco Steel. Mrs. Crowder truly believed in serving her Lord, and was a longtime member of the Church of God in Streetsboro. While she enjoyed walking and shopping, her love of family that included attending activities of her children and grandchildren throughout her life, and her over 70 years of marriage was a testament to that love which will forever be cherished by all who knew her. On March 18, 1944, she married Robert L. Crowder who survives at home. Also surviving are her children Robert J. Crowder and Linda Kolanoski both of Ravenna, Chuck (Bonnie) Crowder of Mantua and Sharon (Steve) Gallagher of Huron, Ohio, her siblings Benny Lester of Valrico, Florida and Clara Hall of California. She was preceded in death by her brothers Dalton and Luther Lester and sister Bernice Walker. Mrs. Crowder was the proud grandmother of 11, great-grandmother of 13 and great-great-grandmother of 6. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where her funeral service will be held on Wednesday December 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Darrell Livengood officiating. Final resting place will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville Township, Ohio.
