Janis A. Rooth's Obituary
RAVENNA-MANTUA Janis A. Rooth, 79 years of age, passed away Wednesday December 9, 2015 at her residence. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 6, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Sylvia (Jelinek ) Bird. Formerly a longtime Mantua area resident, she had resided in Ravenna the past 17 years. Janis had been employed as Executive Secretary at I. Schuman in Bedford Hts , and following her retirement she worked at Walmart in Streetsboro for 5 years, finding a special enjoyment with both management and customers at her place of work. She enjoyed reading, gardening and puzzles in her spare time. Janis had attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mantua. Survivors include her children Tim (Sue) Rooth of Hiram, Kevin (Kathy) Rooth of Hickory, North Carolina, Brian (FiancAC. Kim Long) Rooth of Mantua, Kimberly Sloat of Shalersville, Meghan (Dino) Parrino of Shalersville and Kristen (Mark) Tekavec of Mantua. Her sister Sharon (Norm) Shearey of Florida, 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild also survive. She was preceded in death by her brother Roger Bird. Calling hours will be Monday from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday December 15, 2015, 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mantua with Rev.Fr. Edward Stafford officiating. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH).
