Jean M. Lang's Obituary
HIRAMJean M. Lang, 75 years of age of Hiram, became Our Gift to God on Tuesday October 20, 2009 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio. Jean was God's Gift to Us on October 2, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Edward and Eleanor (Edelstein) Lukes. Formerly of Moreland Hills, Mrs. Lang was a resident of the Hiram and Mantua areas the past 25 years. A graduate of St. Luke's School of Nursing in 1956, she was employed as a registered nurse at St. Luke's Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic for many years. She was a competitive roller skater in Cleveland, and she and her husband Burton, also became skating partners, a joy that added to their love for each other. Jean was a Girl Scout Leader in Moreland Hills for many years, and was a Leader-Trainer of Girl Scouts in the Greater North Eastern Ohio Region. She was a member of the Mobius Center in Aurora, and was a very active member of His Ministry in Aurora, where she continued to nurture her love for children and professional skills by giving of herself in the operation of the church nursery. Jean enjoyed hiking, cross country skiing and creek walking. On October 30, 1957, she married Burton N. Lang who survives at their home. Also surviving are her devoted children Warren Lang of Hiram, Cathrine Eich of Waterbury, Vermont and Susan (Richard) Hellman of Greenwood, South Carolina. 7 loving grandchildren also survive. Calling hours will be Friday from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at His Ministry, 3051 St. Rt. 82, Aurora, where a Celebration of Life service will be Saturday October 24, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Florence Udell officiating. Jean will be laid to rest at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Hospice of Robinson Memorial Hospital. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua.
