Jean V. Pollard's Obituary
Jean V. Pollard, 86 years of age of Mantua Township, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Hts., Ohio. Mrs. Pollard was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 23, 1922, the daughter of the late Edward and Mabel (Henderson) Kerwin. A homemaker and Mantua area resident since 1948, she was a 1941 graduate of John Adams High School. She also was employed as a file clerk for several years at Republic Steel. Mrs. Pollard enjoyed gardening and while her sons were growing up she was very active in PTA and as a Cub Scout Den Mother. On October 6, 1944 she married William H. Pollard, Jr. who survives at their home. Also surviving are her sons, William H. Pollard, 3rd of Mantua and Brian H. (Stacey) Pollard of Stuart, Florida and her granddaughter Megan. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua where funeral services will be Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Janine Dress officiating. Mrs. Pollard will be laid to rest at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township where she will have William H. Pollard, 3rd, Brian H. Pollard, David Pollard, Paul Pollard, Carole Pollard, Chad Pollard, Richard Kerwin and Sam Eisele respectively acting as pallbearers. Friends and family are invited to return to the Mantua K. of C.
