Jean D. Savel's Obituary
Jean D. Savel passed away on October 7, 2025, at the age of 90.
She was the beloved wife of the late Richard S. Savel and the devoted mother of Carole Ranta, Debbie Veverka (Dave), and Linda Cooley (Dale). Jean was a proud grandmother to six: Bob (Melissa), Kelly, and Kim Ranta; David and Dana Veverka; Rebecca Bolton; and step-grandson Zach Cooley (Ymisia). She was also a great-grandmother to six.
Jean was born to the late Walter and Hulda Smith and was one of twelve siblings. Family was always at the center of her life, and she remained closely connected to those she loved.
She retired in 1996 after managing the Yum Yum Tree at Tanglewood Mall in Bainbridge Township. She also worked at the Kustard Kiosk, also located at the mall. Over the years, Jean held many different jobs while also caring for her home and family.
Above all, she adored her three daughters, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren, who brought her great joy throughout her life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 2, from 2:00 to 4:30 PM at Bainbridge Community United Church of Christ, 17751 Chillicothe Road, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023. Family and friends are invited to attend and share memories.
Jean will be remembered with love by all who knew her.
