Jeanne Grieshaber's Obituary
Obituary
Jeanne White Grieshaber of Houston went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at the age of 92. She was born on May 10, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Carl and Elizabeth Spink. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Chip Koenen of Chicago, Illinois; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth White and Cecilia Valdes, of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren: David White; Lauren Zalabak; Christina Thompson; Matthew and Christopher Booth; and ten great grandchildren: John, Micah, Caleb, Bowen, and Lily White; Elizabeth, Jack, and Ethan Thompson; and Ethan and Nicholas Zalabak. She is preceded in death by her parents and her late first husband, James White, and her late second husband, Herman Grieshaber.
Growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, she graduated from Collinwood High School and went on to graduate from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where she was an active member of the Chi Omega sorority. Later in life she was president of the PTA and became an active member of the Skokie Valley Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) in Kenilworth, Illinois.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, attentive grandmother, encouraging great grandmother, and a very loyal and dear friend. She was always interested in meeting new people and learning about what others had to say. Her enthusiastic and infectious zest for life inspired many who knew her.
She lived an active and full life until she contracted dementia nearly nine years ago. Even in her declining state, she always portrayed a positive attitude and had a tremendous effect on those around her. We will miss her greatly, but know she is in good hands with her Lord.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorials be made in Jeanne Grieshaber's name to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (https://alzfdn.org/support-us/donate/).
