Jeanne D. Steinwender's Obituary
WindhamJeanne D. (Johnson) Steinwender, 86 years of age, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010 at her residence in Windham. Born on May 26, 1924 in Massillon, Ohio, Mrs. Steinwender was the daughter of the late Albert H. and Gladys (James) Johnson. She was a member of The United Church Of Christ (Congregational) Church in Windham, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school for a number of years. She was a 50 + year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Garrettsville Lodge, was a volunteer at Robinson Memorial Hospital for a number of years and worked in the Human Resources Department at the Ravenna Arsenal before her marriage. Mrs. Steinwender was a loving and devoted wife, mother and Nana. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She loved her Church and her church family and loved dogs .She always had a smile and quick wit about her and she loved helping others. On June 8, 1946 Mrs. Steinwender married Carl H. Steinwender who survives her at their home. Also surviving is her daughter, Rebecca (Ben) Gaskell of Windham, Grandsons, Eric and Bryant Gaskell of Windham, Brother-in-law, Richard Waller of Erie, Pa. , Devoted Friend, Ruth Ann Brown of Windham and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Betty A. Waller. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at Windham Cemetery at a later date.
