Joan C. Stewart's Obituary
RAVENNA-SHALERSVILLE Joan C. Stewart, 82 years of age, passed away Monday December 8, 2014 at her residence. Born on June 16, 1932 in Carrolltown, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Homer A. and Mary M. (Kritzer) Miller. A homemaker, Mrs. Stewart had been a resident of the Ravenna and Shalersville areas since 1969.She had been employed in the medical records department at Robinson Memorial Hospital retiring in 1997 after 20 years of service. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ravenna. Mrs. Stewart enjoyed gardening and loved watching and feeding the Blue Birds and Hummingbirds. On June 21, 1952, she married her devoted husband William S. Stewart who survives at their home. Also surviving are her children William R. (Karen) Stewart, Dennis C. (Barb Steed) Stewart and Donna (Dale) Mertz all of Ravenna, and Debra (Daniel) Rearick of Old Saybrook, Connecticut, her brothers Melvin Miller of Massachutces, David Miller of Pennsylvania, Donald Miller of North Carolina, Thomas Miller of Maryland, Robert Miller of Zanesville, Ohio, Fred Miller of Eastlake, Ohio, John Miller of Mentor, Ohio and James Miller of Connecticut, 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandchildren Kara Lou Stewart, Dennis W. Stewart and Scott A. Stewart and her sisters, Sister Anita Miller, Judith Gumminger and Luella Grace and her brother Gerald Miller. Calling hours will be Wednesday December 10, 2014 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua with closing prayers said at 7:00 p.m. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Hillside Cemetery in Mantua Village, Ohio.
