Joe P. Knautz, III's Obituary
NEWBURYJoseph P. Knautz, III, 72 years of age, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2011, at UHS Geauga Regional in Claridon, Township. Born on December 14, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Joseph P. and Sophia (Magdalence) Knautz, II. A resident of Newbury since 1974, Mr. Knautz was a member of the Church of St. Helen in Newbury and a Volunteer Fireman with the Burton Fire Department and a member of the Ohio Wagon Train Association. Mr. Knautz was employed as an electrician at National Acme in Cleveland, following which he worked at Chardon Rubber retiring in 2005. Mr. Knautz exhibited at the Great Geauga County Fair for 41 consecutive years his donkeys, and was well known for taking "Pony" to the fair and his expertise in yodeling which he shared both at the fair and with family and friends. On July 29, 1961, he married Josephine E. Knautz who preceded him in death on June 4, 2010. Survivors include his children Joseph P. (Kim) Knautz, IV., Rebekah Knautz both of Newbury and 5 grandchildren Joseph, V., Jessica, Shelby, Hayley and Conner. Friends may call on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, from 5:00 P.M.-6:30 P.M., at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, St.Rt. 44 at the corner of Pioneer Trail (S of Rt. 422) Mantua where his funeral service will begin at 6:30 P.M. with Deacon Will Payne officiating. Joseph will be laid to rest beside his loving wife Josephine at Munn Cemetery in Newbury Township.
