John H. Bright's Obituary
TROY TWP. John H. Bright, Jr., 71 years of age, passed away Monday September 3, 2012 at Burton Health Care. Born in East Cleveland, Ohio on September 30, 1940, he was the son of the late John H. and Jessie L. (Richards) Bright, Sr. For the past 20 years he had been the owner-operator of John's Cleaning Service in Troy, formerly working as a computer operator at Chase Brass & Copper in Cleveland, Gould,Inc. and then as a programmer for the Geauga County Auditors Department. A resident of Geauga County since 1973, Mr. Bright was Co-Coordinator of the Geauga County 4-H Dairy Goats and a member and past officer of the Western Reserve Dairy Goat Association.In addition to raising goats, he enjoyed golfing. Mr. Bright was a member and Past Master of Village Lodge # 274 F.&A.M. in Burton and Clover Chapter # 201 O.E.S. in Burton. He was a veteran of the Viet Nam Era, proudly serving his country in the U.S. Coast Guard. On January 29, 1960, he married Karen "Kay" (Glaser) Bright who survives at their home. Also surviving is his daughter Jacqueline (Bruce) Clifford, Sr. of Bristolville, Ohio,2 grandsons John C. Bright and Bruce Clifford, Jr., 2 great-granddaughters Chloe and Hailey Bright and his cousin John (Bonnie) Colgan of Maryland. He was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law Cynthia and Howard Harden.Calling hours will be Sunday September 9, 2012 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, State Route 44 at the corner of Pioneer Trail (S. of Rt. 422) Mantua, from 2:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M. where Masonic services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Funeral services for Mr. Bright will be held Monday September 10,2012 at 10:00 A.M. at The Church At Troy, 18712 Mumford Road, Troy Township with Pastor Stephen Beatty officiating. Mr. Bright will then be laid to rest at Mumford Road Cemetery with military honors provided by U.S. Coast Guard Honor Guard Team, assisted by Mantua American Legion Post No. 193.
