GARNER, NORTH CAROLINA
John W. Brook Sr., 93 years of age, of Garner, North Carolina passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022. John was born on June 5, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of the late John and Dorothy (Whiting) Brook, He had been a Mantua resident until moving to Michigan in 2007. John served in the United States Army during WWII. John received his Master’s Degree from Steven’s Institute of Technology. He was a member of the Anchor Lodge F & AM and was a former active member the Portage Faith United Methodist Church. John was employed as a chemical researcher for Master Builders Division of BASF in Beachwood, Ohio. He enjoyed snow skiing and golfing. John is survived by his children John W. (Janice) Brook, Jr. of Burlington Twp., New Jersey, Sharon E. (Robert) Davis of Raleigh, North Carolina, and brother Daniel H. Brook of Tennessee. John is also survived by his loving 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. John is preceded in death by his first wife, Rachel D. in 2004, and his second wife Betty Lou Barnell Brook in 2021. Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail, at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio, 44255, from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. Services will be, Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 11:00am. Final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Township, Ohio, where full Military Honors will be provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of the Mantua American Legion, Post #193.
