John Hitti's Obituary
John Hitti, 73 years of age, passed away Friday September 28, 2012, at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio following a brief illness. John was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 14, 1938, the son of the late John A. and Cecelia (Starin) Hitti. John was raised by his Foster parents, the late Alvin and Josephine Myers. John was employed as a machinist, and later as an ISO coordinator for Teledyne Hyson in Brecksville, retiring after 24 years of service. John served his country in the United States Air Force as a military policeman. He held memberships in American Legion Post No. 193 of Mantua, having served as Commander, and the "Breakfast Bunch", a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and the Ohio Rifle & Pistol Association, and was the founder and president for 20 years of the Red Fox Gun Club. John's greatest passion was target shooting, and he had a tremendous knowledge about firearms and the sport of shooting, which he loved to spend time with friends, and family discussing and offering help and advice, and sharing his wealth of information with all. Both John and his wife Rose truly enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns win (but mostly lose) on TV., together. His family came first and the love that he had for them, as well as their love for John, will always be cherished. On February 11, 1961, he married Rose (Klima) Hitti who survives at their home.J ohn is also survived by his children Debbie (William) Lamb of Ravenna, Darin (Tammy Wright) Hitti of Copley, Damon (Julia) Hitti of Pickerington, Ohio and Denise (Mike Mossor) Hitti of Kent, his grandchildren Duncan, Abbey, Brittany and Mason. Additional survivors include his sister Ceil (Calvin) Foreman of Eastlake, Ohio, his sister-in-law Cheryl Green, brother-in-law Edward Klima, niece Cherie Green and nephew Bill Green. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where his funeral service will be held Wednesday October 3, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Michael Garvey officiating. John will then be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville Township, Ohio where he will receive full military honors provided by the U.S. Air Force, assisted by the Mantua American Legion.
