John R. Ittel's Obituary
MANTUA John R. Ittel, 83 years of age, passed away Wednesday August 19, 2015 at University Hospital-Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio. Born on November 13, 1931 in Rochester, New York, he had formerly resided in New York, living in the Mantua area since 1979. Mr. Ittel had been employed as Sales Manager at Coaxial Dynamics from where he retired, and also was an assistant at Mantua Station Drug for several years. He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Ittel was a longtime avid Crestwood Schools Sports fan and supporter. He and his wife enjoyed their special times spent in Las Vegas and the cruises they took together. On August 13, 1965, he married Irene (Thibault) Ittel who survives at their home. Also surviving are his sons Steve (Rachel) Ittel and David (Kelli) Ittel both of Mantua; daughters Samantha Ittel of Rootstown and Elizabeth (Ed Hayes) Ittel of Ravenna, five grandchildren Sarah, Jonathan, David Michael, Grace and Alyssa, and one great-grandchild Peyton. He was preceded in death by his aunt Eleanor Ickeringill. Memorial calling hours will be held Sunday August 23, 2015 from 2:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where a brief tribute to the life of Mr. Ittel will be held at 4:00 P.M. with Mr. Gary Urban officiating.
