John R. Kline's Obituary
John Russell Kline, 57 years young, of Shalersville, Ohio, passed away Friday morning, October 4, 2024. He passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at Aurora Manor. John was born on November 12, 1966, and in December 1966, he was adopted by Rita and Vern Kline.
John graduated from Crestwood High School in 1985 and then followed in Vern's footsteps, becoming a Mason. Years later, John started his own masonry company, J.M. Kline Mason Contractors. He later changed his career path to home inspecting with Pillar to Post, which he loved as well. While working for them, he was elected for two terms as a Trustee for Shalersville Township.
John is survived by his wife, Mary, and his two daughters, Shanley and Reilly (Gavin); his sister and brother, Jen (Dean) Engelhart and Jason (Debby) Kline. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rita and Vern Kline. Beloved brother in law to Sandra Hodge, Patricia Phillips (Mike), Danny Curran (Tammy), Margaret Mendolera (Sal), Kath Williams (Jack) both deceased. In-laws Dan and JoAnne Curran, deceased.
John married Mary (Curran) on February 22, 1997. He then became a father in July of 1998 and a father of two in October of 2000. To John, family was his everything. He would do anything he could to help them succeed in every chapter of their lives. He was their biggest fan and supporter.
John was a son, a brother, a friend, a husband, an uncle, and a father. He was known for being the life of the party, lighting up every room he walked into. He was a kind, loving, caring, funny, hard-working man. He will be remembered by his contagious laugh, his "John jokes," and by family and friends continuing to tell the stories he would repeatedly share.
A special thank you to John's main nurses and aides at Aurora Manor and Crossroads Hospice for showing John so much extra love, grace, compassion, and patience during the last year of his fight.
