John Siman's Obituary
AUBURN TWP.John Siman, 89 years of age, a longtime resident of Auburn Township, passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on Saturday November 22, 2014. John was born on August 3, 1925 in Horni Kamaeneck, Czechoslovakia the son of the late John and Marie ( Roucka) Siman. John proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army earning an honorable discharge as Sergeant Technician Third Grade. An area resident for 65 years, he was the owner-operator of Winchell Road Packing and the Siman Family Farm in Mantua. John was a member of the AARP in Chagrin Falls, served on the Geauga County Water and Soil Conservation Board, was a member and assisted in starting the Senior Center in Geauga County, and was a longtime very active member of the Mantua Rotary Club. As a member of Mantua Masonic Lodge No. 533 F.&A.M., in 2014 he received his 50 year pin. He also belonged to The Warren Comandry No. 39 Knights Templar's. John was passionate about hunting, traveling and was extremely knowledgeable concerning Civil War history. On October 1, 1949, he married Jerri (Bouse) Siman his beloved wife of 65 years who survives at their home. Also surviving are his children Jana Siman of Branford, CT and John A. (Joan) Siman of Mantua, and his grandchildren John A. Siman, Jr., Kelly E. Siman, Molly S. Brady, Jennifer L. Siman and Andrew S. Brady, and one great-granddaughter Olivia E. Siman.
