John R. Strahan Jr.'s Obituary
John R Strahan Jr., age 87 of Shalersville Twp., passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Born September 20, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late John R. Sr. and Elizabeth (Armstrong) Strahan of Aurora.
John served in the U.S. Navy and upon fulfilling his obligation he returned home to graduate from Aurora High School. In 1961 he began work as a sheet-metal worker in Union Local 33. He transitioned to the Ford Motor Company, as a member of The United Auto Workers Union in 1977. John retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service. Over John’s lifetime, he had several passions which included his family, helping others and lifelong learning. He was actively involved in many Christian churches over the years which he attended, and most recently was an active member of Crossroads Community Church.
Despite all of that, John would tell you that his most important accomplishment was becoming a Christian and a follower of Jesus. At the age of 32, in the midst of personal turmoil, John gave his heart to the Lord. From then on his goal in life was that all would come to know Christ personally.
