Johnny K. Pickett's Obituary
GARRETTSVILLE Johnny K. "John" Pickett, 56 years of age, passed away Wednesday March 2, 2016 at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Hts., Ohio. Born on March 4, 1959 in Parma, Tennessee, John then moved to Garrettsville in 1977 where he has since resided. He was a 1978 graduate of James A. Garfield High School, and was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Garrettsville. John had been employed as a tow motor operator at Dillen Products in Middlefield. John enjoyed camping and was known for being a "jokester"with all his friends and family, yet for all who knew him, the memories of a friend to everyone, always helping anyone in need, will forever be cherished. The devotion to family and his beloved wife will remain always in their hearts. On July 18, 1981, he married Susan (Sheller) Pickett who survives at their home. Also surviving are his loving daughters Jennifer Pickett of Garrettsville and Christina (Tyler Parker) Pickett of Ravenna; brother Brian (Billie) Russell of Windham, sisters Darlene (Darryl) Crider of Whitwell, Tennessee and Tracie (Joe) Brookover of Garrettsville; father-in-law and mother-in-law David A. and Ginger Sheller of Garrettsville, and his 4 legged fur babies Maggie and Sugar. Preceding him in death was his mother Vonnie Pickett-Russell. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday March 7, 2016 11:00 A.M. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 10692 Freedom St., Garrettsville, Ohio 44231 with Fr. Steve Zeigler officiating.(EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Final resting place will follow at Drakesburg Cemetery in Freedom Township,Ohio.
