Jon Derek Oberholtzer's Obituary
GARRETTSVILLE Jon Derek Oberholtzer, 46 years of age of Garrettsville, passed away Thursday August 6, 2009 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio. Jon was born on March 18, 1963 in Ravenna, Ohio the son of the late James E. and Clara M. (Wright) Oberholtzer, Sr. Formerly of Kent, he was a graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School. He was employed for several years as a machinist at Step 2 Corporation in Streetsboro. Jon enjoyed fishing, horses, spending time with his grandchildren and family, and was a hard working man with a heart of gold who always appreciated life even in difficult times. On June 24, 1989, he married Deborah L. (Wanyek) Oberholtzer who survives at their home. Also surviving is his son Eddie Wanyek of Ravenna, daughters Christine (Roy) Phillips of Tennessee and Angie Treadwell of Ravenna, 5 loving grandchildren, brothers James E. (Gail) Oberholtzer, Jr. of Kent, Britt (Kathy) Oberholtzer of Virginia, sisters Laurel (Al) Cummings and Lisa (Bret) Wilson both of Ravenna and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by 1 grandson. No calling hours, Cremation has taken place. A memorial service for Jon will be held Tuesday August 11, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Praise Assembly of God, 10280 St. Rt. 88 in Garrettsville with Pastor Greg Ebie officiating. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua.
