Joseph S. Gonczy's Obituary
AURORA-MANTUA Joseph S. Gonczy, 83 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Friday September 17, 2010 at his residence in Aurora. Mr. Gonczy was God's Gift to Us on October 30, 1926 in Mantua, Ohio the son of the late Gabriel and Elizabeth (Gonzy) Gonczy. Mr. Gonczy grew up and graduated from school in Mantua, following which he was a carpenter-builder with Gonczy Brothers Builders in Mantua. He later lived in Florida and Arkansas, returning to the Aurora-Mantua areas in 2008. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Gonczy was affiliated with numerous churches in his lifetime and became very knowledgeable with the reading of many Bibles. He enjoyed golfing, bowling which included with the Gonczy Bowling Team and was a handyman of many talents. He was preceded in death by his first wife Ruth in 1964, his second wife Marion in 1981 and his third wife Marlene in 2008; son Timothy Gonczy, daughter Stacy Hadlock, brothers Gabor " Gabe" and Paul Gonczy. Survivors include his children Gary (Sue) Gonczy of Wisconsin, Larry Hadlock, William Hadlock and Lee Gonczy all of Florida, Richard (Rosemary) Gonczy of Arizona, Kathy (David) Gaddis and Terri (Ed Fitzgerald) Hadlock both of Aurora, brothers Dan (Judy) Gonczy of Mantua and Jim (Jane) Gonczy of Burton and sisters Betty Almy and Marge Gonczy both of Mantua, as well as 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place with a private burial. A memorial service will be Wednesday September 22, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where a visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until the time of the memorial service. Military honors will be presented at the conclusion of the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Harbor Light Hospice 25 S.
