Joseph N. Herman's Obituary
AUBURN TWP. Bishop Joseph N. Herman, 46 years of age, passed away Tuesday January 24, 2012 at University Hospital-Geauga Regional Medical Center in Claridon Township. Born on April 2, 1965 in Riverhead, L.I., New York, he was the son of Charles R. and Evangelia (Kafatzaki) Herman.Formerly of Austin, Texas, he was a resident of Auburn the past 8 years.A graduate of California State University-Fresno in 1987, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Marketing. The past 3 years he was a Auto Claims Project Manager for California Casualty, prior to which he was employed by Progressive Insurance Company. In 1984, he was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous capacities ,following which in 2007 he was ordained a Bishop by Elder Walter C. Selden and has since served The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hiram ,Ohio.On November 12, 1983, he married Lorelei (Jensen) Herman who survives at their home. Bishop Herman is also survived by his children Brent(Lauren) Herman of Atlanta, Georgia, Tace Herman of Rexburg, Idaho. Cole Herman presently serving a church mission in El Salvador, San Salvador and Katie (Andrew) Nothum of Washington, Missouri, his parents Charles and Evangelia Herman of Merced, California, sister Deborah Herman of Fresno, California and his granddaughter Olivia. No calling hours. Funeral services for Bishop Herman will be held Monday January 30,2012 11:00 A.M. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6203 Pioneer Trail Hiram,Ohio 44234 with Bishop Jeff Hatfield officiating. Final resting place for Bishop Herman will follow at Fairview Cemetery,Hiram, Ohio.
