Julie T. Buonpane's Obituary
MANTUA Julie T. Buonpane, 89 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Tuesday December 27, 2011 at Anna Maria of Aurora, Ohio. Julie was God's Gift to Us on February 22, 1922 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Angelo and Maddalena (Alfano) Terranova. A resident of Mantua since 1952, Julie was a dedicated member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mantua where for over 20 years she served as church secretary. Julie was well known as an avid bowler with her husband in the Crestwood Teachers league, where she and "Mr. B." always put their best efforts forward for their team. Her community involvements included being a volunteer with ROTO at the Crestwood Primary School, a volunteer at Robinson Memorial Hospital and with "Meals-on-Wheels". Julie loved to cook and especially loved making Italian Wedding Soup. She enjoyed writing poetry and would often include a short verse with the birthday cards she sent to family and friends. Her family and grandchildren were loves of her life, and she also will be remembered for her love of cats even until the time of her passing on Tuesday. On October 9, 1948, she married Anthony S. "Tony" Buonpane in New Castle, Pennsylvania where he was operating a music store and repair shop and together they began their almost 58 years of marriage until the passing of Mr. Buonpane on April 29, 2006. Julie is survived by her children John (Dolores) Buonpane of Ravenna and Rosemary (Jerry) Krupar of Mantua, her sister Anne Caprara of New Jersey and her grandchildren Nicholas, Lauren, Allyson, Rebecca and Paul. She was preceded in death by her brother Pete Terranova and sister Betty Rich. Calling hours will be Friday from 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Green family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where prayers will be said Saturday at 10:15 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday December 31, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mantua with Rev. Fr. Leo Werhlin officiating. Julie will then be laid to rest beside her loving husband "Tony" at Hillside Cemetery in Mantua Village.
