Karen Lee Riggar's Obituary
RAVENNA Karen Lee Riggar, 66, of Ravenna, died January 11, 2011, at Longmeadow Care Center in Ravenna with her beloved husband of 43 years, Roy, at her side. She was born on August 21, 1944, to Nelson and June (Boerngen) Welch of Aurora. Karen graduated in 1962 from Aurora High School. She had been employed at Union Commerce Bank in downtown Cleveland, Dodge Junior High School and LCs in Twinsburg, and Sage and First Merit Bank in Akron. She had been a member of the Twinsburg United Methodist Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Moose Lodge in Northfield and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Karen overcame a great deal of adversity in her life and found joy in surrounding herself with children. She is survived by her husband, Roy Riggar Sr. of Ravenna; sister Loiann (Ron) Irvin of Oxford, Ohio; children Laura (Dave) Nethken of Ravenna, Roy (Debbie) Riggar Jr. of Macedonia, and Debra (Blair) Galasky of Cortland; grandchildren, Brad Nethken of Ravenna; Michelle (Steve) Sheets, Heather (Kevin) Naylor, Christopher P.J. Riggar, David (Dawn) Albright, Tim Galasky and Tom (Megan) Galasky; and great-grandchildren Brandon and Andrew Albright and Madison Galasky. She will be deeply missed by her canine companion Miss Susie. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughters Patricia Riggar and Brenda Sanders. There will be no calling hours or services.
