Katherine Marie Bonner's Obituary
NEWBURY TOWNSHIP Katherine Marie Bonner, 91 years of age, passed away Sunday July 31, 2011 at her residence in Newbury. Born on September 12, 1919 in Hungary, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Wangler) Parsche. Mrs. Bonner was a graduate of Maple Hts. High School where she was the Valedictorian. She attended and graduated from Kent State University Magna Cum Laude in elementary education. A lifetime Geauga County resident, Mrs. Bonner was employed by the Cardinal School District as an elementary school teacher, retiring after 24 years of dedicated service. She held memberships in numerous professional associations including the Geauga County Chapter of ABWA, OEA, NEOTA, and was a member of Kappa Delta Pi and DAR. A former member for over 50 years of the Auburn Community Church, she was instrumental in the formation of the "Thanks for the Memory" program at the church. Mrs. Bonner enjoyed quilting, knitting, gardening, yet her most precious times were those spent with her family, children and grandchildren. On January 25, 1941, she married Clifford M. Bonner, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1970. Also preceding her was a sister Betty Berg.Survivors include her children Clifford (Toni) Bonner, Jr. of Burton, David (Lisa) Bonner, Richard (Rae Lynn) Bonner and William (Christine) Bonner all of Mantua, Linda Leigh, Judy (Donald) Cullen and Patty (Lou) Duplago all of Newbury, Carol (Peter) Clemens of Birmingham, Alabama, Kathy (John) Franks of Auburn and Peggy (Robert) Smith of Seminole, Florida, as well as 26 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, St.Rt. 44 at the corner of Pioneer Trail (S. of Rt. 422) Mantua, where her funeral service will be held Thursday August 4, 2011 at 11:30 A.M. with Rev. Werner Lange officiating. Mrs. Bonner will then be laid to rest at the Bonner Family Cemetery & Chapel in Freedom Township, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Hospice of NCJW Montefiore, 1 David Myers Parkway, Beachwood, Ohio 44122-1162.
