Kathleen "Kay" Glassner's Obituary
MANTUA Kathleen M. "Kay" Glassner, 75 years of age, a longtime resident of Mantua, passed away Thursday October 29, 2009 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. Kay was born on August 15, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio the daughter of the late John and Cecilia (Egan) Finucan. Raised in Cleveland, Kay later moved to the Mantua area, where she was employed as a teller at Bank One for 10 years. For many years of her life Kay worked as a waitress, including being employed at Quinn's Restaurant in Solon. From 1978-1993, she and her late husband Bob were the owner's and operators of "The Other Place" restaurant in Mantua. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mantua, where both she and Bob were active assisting and playing the church Bingo fund raising program. An avid reader, Kay enjoyed Chinese Auctions, and loved to travel with Bob, and the special times she spent with family and her grandchildren. On May 8, 1954, she married Robert F. Glassner who preceded her in death in 1999. Also preceding her was her son Robert J. Glassner in 1956 and two brothers Neil and Jack Finucan. Survivors include her children John (Alice) Glassner of Pine, Colorado, William (Joy) Glassner of Mantua, David (Suzie Knapp) Glassner of San Diego, California and Susan Wood of Mantua. Her brother Daniel (Mary Ann) Finucan of Painesville, Ohio, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. Calling hours will be Sunday November 1, 2009 from 2:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where prayers will be said Monday at 10:15 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday November 2, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mantua with the Rev. Fr. Michael Garvey officiating. Kay will be laid to rest beside her loving husband Bob at Hillside Cemetery in Mantua.
