Kay Robert Kravcisin's Obituary
Kay Robert Kravcisin Age 75 of Mantua, died December 16, 2024 at Hospice of Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio. Kay was born September 6, 1949 in Chardon, Ohio to Robert and Dorothy (nee: Gracyk) Kravcisin, He married the love of his life, Jill Kapis, on November 1, 1969.
He served in the 3rd Battalion of the 506th Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division of the Army in the Vietnam War from 1969-1971. He was a mail carrier for the Newbury Post Office from 1972-1995 and then became a Postal Police Investigator in Cleveland, Ohio from 1995-2004.
Kay enjoyed hiking the Buckeye Trail, golfing, reading, listening to the Chardon Polka Band, volunteering at parks and at the Loaves and Fishes at Christ Lutheran Church, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 55 years, Jill Kravcisin, his children Kelley Kravcisin of Mantua, Kimberly (Joseph) Kolecki of Aurora, Ken Kravcisin of Shalersville, and Kristy (David) Anderson of Ravenna, grandchildren, Allie Owen, Emmalynn, Zachary, and Violet Anderson, his sister Amiee Kravcisin of Troy, and his son's childhood friends Bob Campbell, Tim Toothman, and Joe Barkett, who also called him dad. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert and Dorothy Kravcisin, grandsons, Julio and Kent Kravcisin whom he will meet for the first time in heaven, and his daughter in law, Julie (Fragomeni) Kravcisin.
Family and friends may gather for visitation on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Christ Lutheran Church, 10827 Main St., Mantua from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the church on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. Kay will be laid to rest with full Military Honors at The Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville, Friday at 1:45 p.m. (Please Meet at the cemetery entrance).
